This is due to the somehow broken CMT plugin library (package: cmt).
Amsynth uses the Freeverb plugin from that package and that one doesn't work in
lenny (I think it works in etch), for whatever reason.

After increasing Reverb ammount sound goes left channel until it dissapears.
And no reverb applied.(alsa\jack output tested)
I am using Debian GNU/Linux Lenny, amd64 port with latest (at 14november
2008) security\base updates.
