As the OP already said, please just put calf-plugins to recommended, not as a
dependency. Maybe it is not important in context of easyeffects, but I have
issues with the calf-plugins inside Ardour, suddenly the UI can not be opened

Dear Maintainer,
Easyeffects works quite well without calf-plugins. In my case, I just
use the equaliser from lsp-plugins-lv2, with an empty replacement package
for calf-plugins, and can report ill effects. So I do not think a hard
depend
