I followed up on this though IRC. The reporter was confused because the
instruments in /usr/share/doc/ams/instruments are now gzipped, and because of
that they do not show up in 'File->Open' anymore (as that only shows *.ams).
As some people will mainly use ams for its existing instruments, and n
