er to the original names:
libsdl1.2-mingw32-dev
libsmpeg-mingw32-dev
I'd prefer the first one, but what's your opinion?

ut even touching any propritary operating system.
Probably one could even try to port WIX to Debian, to produce *.msi
(Windows installer) files. That's the big plan. :-)

according to the
DLL file "zlib1.dll", i.e.:
mingw32-zlib1-dev
However, probably there is a good reason to call it:
mingw32-zlib1g-dev
instead. Which of them should I prefer?
Sorry for my questions, but there isn't any "Debian MinGW
Policy" out there
german. But the commands should be
self-explaining and will give you a general idea. It uses the
kernel source package and "make-kpkg". It's a very elegant way
to produce a Debian package containing your new patched kernel.
If someone is really interested in that Howto, I
uWin32
and has good MinGW builds. But even that package should be included
in GnuWin32, because GnuWin32 has a nice installing system (for
Windows MinGW).
What do you think about it? Is it reasonable? Is it good practice?
Is there anything else I should take care of?

I left this quote because you sent that mail accidently just to me
instead of the mailing list.

I just translated one of my howtos to english, maybe that'll help you
understand the user's view on Debian kernel packages:

A
uld be named this way:
win32-libpng12-dev
because a "mingw32-" prefix would be misleading.

they use a "repacked source", they didn't provide a
README.Debian-source. Are there exceptions from that rule?

adopted.

on a similar problem can be found at:

It's currently only in german, but I'd translate this if someone is
