Is there any simple way to achieve the same thing on a Sarge system,
other than backporting aptitude?

Almost correct. "an" is used if there is a vowel-*sound*.
Since U is pronounce alone here (it's an abbreviation, not a word),
U i

in Linux, now is the time to download the source (and/or the debs) and

Wouldn't

Of course, UTF-8 whereever possible is a nice goal to strive after,
and I think that the debian-specific files are a good place to star
r bootsplash-scripts by using
/bin/bash instead, why not fix them for real instead?
For the scripts in sysv-rc-bootsplash, this should from a cursory
glance, be as easy as removing the function keyword and adding () after
the function-names.

I'll sponsor you. I still feel sort of guilty for slowing down your
NM application, and I'm using cpufreqd
legal perspective. I suggest you contact the upstream author of
the program and explain to him that he needs to read the "How to apply"
section of the GPL...

In this case, with only 2 different alternatives, the best solution
would probably be:

When I come back from my mini-vacation this week, I'll have a look at
just how broken phpgroupware is, and if it looks at least reasonably
possible to fix, I could co-maintain this package with you if you want
