be better to replace it something else, ideally that sorts lower. The --local
option of dch may help you to automate the task.

what you are trying to do with the version number looks similar in spirit. The
usual way is to modify the source package before building, not during.
You can see http://www.eyrie.org/~eagle/software/scripts/backport.html as one of
the many examples.

f checkouts… This may also be one
reason why some RFS take some time to be transformed in uploads.

evelopers will find
libwcslib-dev easily with apt-cache, and the description of your package will
present its contents clearly. This has the advantage that everybody can rely
on the same convention that is used for most of the other C libraries: libfoo
is the foo library.
For a similar reason, I a
at for users installing Sid or Testing packages on Testing or Stable, and
sometimes helps the packages to migrate to Testing.

since a year. Since it is Git-maintained on collab-maint, perhaps you could go
ahead with all consensual improvements you want to do, and bluntly orphan the
package ? If it is the wrong decision, it is easy to correct it, by uploading
the new upstream release that is available on SourceForge…
better reflect the situation of that package.
