Hi,
I'm interested in adopting the premake package in Debian, I think it's been
orphaned but it's not in the orphaned list. The current packaged version is
3.7 and the current upstream release is 4.4-beta4. Version 3.7 was released
in 2008, 4.4-beta4 came out 8 months ago. It doesn't look like it'
I have contacted the current maintainer and they're OK with me adopting the
package.
Does the current maintainer need to Orphan/RTA the package first or can I
just file a new ITA bug? I've been looking at various wiki pages and
existing ITA bugs but they're generally renaming an existing O or RTA

I have been reading through the intro-maintainers page and linked
documentation. One thing I haven't explicitly come across is renaming
executables.

Hi Steffen,
Thanks for the offer! No one else has come forward yet. I'll give it
another week or so to see if anyone volunteers and get back to you.
Cheers,

Thanks for promoting my premake 4 RFS Shirish :)
I'd also point out that the open source game 0ad uses premake 4 and
the Bullet physics library recently moved from cmake to premake 4
(though cmake is still supported for now).

Hi Steffen,
I haven't heard from you in a while, do you still think you'd be able
to sponsor premake4?

Hi mentors,
Last time I uploaded some fixes to my package
(http://mentors.debian.net/package/premake4) to mentors I bumped the
version number to 4.3-2. I've been advised (see
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=696899#64) that I
shouldn't have done that since the package hasn't been u
I've uploaded a new version with the changes suggested by Jonathan to
mentors.

Please use the premake4_4.3-1 version. After feedback from Jonathan that
the version number shouldn't be incremented until it's actually uploaded to

I will have some time tomorrow morning (UTC+10) to have a look at the

Hi Jonathan,
I've applied your changes and have updated to rules file to support
get-orig-source. I've used CDBS to do this, it has support for downloading
upstream tarballs and repacking them.
I've uploaded a new version to mentors including your changes and my update
rules file. I was in a bit
said I've
noticed a few projects using the 4.4 beta in the wild, so it may be worth
updating to that if that's what people want to use.
