Users are not properly informed that discussions on mentors.debian.net
may be automatically lost after a package is removed from
mentors.debian.net. This should be changed. I would rather see the
information backed-up in some way before it is deleted.

Don't give up. Upload it again and continue trying to find a sponsor. I
used to be a ghdl user in the past, but I'm not good at Ada stuff (afaik
ghdl is written in Ada), so maybe I'm not the best person for this. Try to
approach someone from the Ada team, maybe they can help you.
