I might be missing something, but what seems to be a problem is:
1. you cannot adjust the shrink ratio: on analysing a DVD, it does
some guess

If the reason for the lintian messages is an actual bug in the package
(such as in this case, where there are missing man pages), I actually
prefer to see the lintian messages
