I've uploaded a premake4 source package to mentors:
http://mentors.debian.net/package/premake4
Before I try looking for sponsors I thought I'd check here to see if
anyone could take a quick look and let me know if I've made any silly
mistakes.
I initially created and tested the source package on

Hi Cameron,
First of all, thanks for volunteering to package and maintain
premake4! One of my packages (0ad) actually uses an embedded copy of
premake, which I would like to switch to using a system version if
possible, but of course premake4 isn't yet available in Debian...
Just to address some

Hello,
I think you somehow need to use "update-alternatives" to symlink "premake4" to
"premake". I think this is what should be done, so wait for someone to
agree/disagree ;)
Some examples of this that I can think of are valac and possibly python.

I have been reading through the intro-maintainers page and linked
documentation. One thing I haven't explicitly come across is renaming
executables.

Great :)
For the rest of the tasks, see this page:

I have contacted the current maintainer and they're OK with me adopting the
package.
Does the current maintainer need to Orphan/RTA the package first or can I
just file a new ITA bug? I've been looking at various wiki pages and
existing ITA bugs but they're generally renaming an existing O or RTA
No response to any of the bugs and only one upload by the maintainer ever.
I would suggest sending a mail to the maintainer and CC the sponsor
(run who-uploads premake), wait for a some time (perhaps a month) and
then file an ITA bug. After that do the usual stuff; update the
package, find a spons
Hi,
I'm interested in adopting the premake package in Debian, I think it's been
orphaned but it's not in the orphaned list. The current packaged version is
3.7 and the current upstream release is 4.4-beta4. Version 3.7 was released
in 2008, 4.4-beta4 came out 8 months ago. It do
