I saw the same with netscape. I just commented away path to xfs server
in my XFree86-4 file (I do not use xfs anyway) and the problem
went away - I did not investigate it further

you can use
update-inetd --file /etc/services --add 'name port/tcp # comment'
however, be aware that /etc/services can be overwritten when you upgrade
netstd.
