Moving a package from contrib to main

I originally uploaded digitaldj into contrib, with a Depends: mpg123 line. But then I was reminded that it could work with any command-line MP3 player, of which there are several free ones. So, I tried to upload to main, but it didn't work. What's the proper way to do this? Thanks, Adam pgpWc
