challenge is that this needs the network interfaces to be up to
properly initialize, but the network interfaces shouldn't be brought

Just change the RFP to an ITP, merge it with your ITP

I've sent ITP for mod_gzip a few days ago and I just noticed that RFP "bug" for
this package is still open. Should I send a close for this ? If not - who
