Hi noticed that there's a new upstream release just 2 days ago which is
after when Steffen started to work on the Debian package.
And looks like they cleaned their mess, I updated to latest upstream now it
should be okay :-)

Done and on building w/o tests - everything clean.
Now building with tests - the tests are too heavy.
Shall file an ITP and send RFS when it finishes (hopefully) successfully.
