I m using debian live to build a live system with a mysql server
instance. I d like to install at build time some packages which require
an online mysql instance to install their database (with dbconfig).
It seems that services cannot be started (due to /usr/sbin/policy-rc.d)
in chroot

written by www-data user.
When processing these instructions on a Debian Squeeze system
(2.6.32-5-686), it works flawlessly :

olv.conf in the squashfs are empty except if they were provided
at build time.
What do you think about this process :
If no ip is defined in boot arguments, use the configuration file from
live media/persistency. If the file is empty, fall back to dhcp.

Is it possible to use a persistence image file in the same partition than
the live system , alongside /live, /syslinux directories or another
partition is required ? I used tarball persistence with previous version of

The cups subsystem stores its printer list in some configuration files. I

bug with initramfs custom compression in live-build 4.0.3. You may apply them
