OK, I re-installed everything. And I added noautologin as a boot parameter before the first boot. And I got a login screen rather than an autologin. The only problem now is that the login manager seems to be broken. There is no way to enable root login as there is in 60alpha1. Thanks for the

OK, using dd with the hybrid iso file produced a USB with an iso file installed. And it boots to debian with no poroblems. BUT, Gparted shows only unallocated space on the USB, so there is no way to add a live-rw partition for persistence. Or am I missing something? Jim -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, e

I am in deep stuff now! dd with the iso: debian-live-60alpha1-i386-gnome-desktop.iso resulted in an iso image on the USB. And no way to add a partition for persistence. Worse, neither Debian or Win7 is able to make a partition on the USB or format it. Any suggestions? Thanks, Jim -- To UN
