Looking at your script, especially at obsolete `ifconfig` command
invocation, reverse DNS request and lot of awk regexp'es, i can
consider, that you have already setupped DNS zone and static
DHCP-reservations for each PC.
If so you can use for ISC DHCP `get-lease-hostname

All packages from upiter77's list seems to me are avaliable in wheezy,
Daniel? build.log is needed?

Current sid `live-tools` package
(http://packages.debian.org/en/sid/all/live-tools/filelist) conflicts
with `procps` package and `initramfs-tools` package either in wheezy
or in sid (http://packages.debian.org/en/sid/all/procps/filelist).

I'm working under wheezy-based netboot image with a live-* packages
from sid for my network.
After recent changes in live-config (after Septeber 27th) i can build
netboot image, but it fails to execute config scripts during boot
process and thus cr
