are you literally running "kvm -cdrom foo.iso"? If so, can you try
adding "-m 512"
with jessie built today using cgi-builder:
Can't get past "configure the package manager", which insists on
selecting an archive and then gives message "bad archive mirror" and
can't proceed offline.
This was with setting
LB_DEBIAN_INSTALLER="true"
in the cgi builder. I hope that is suffi

I've gotten the same result on several different platforms,

lb build
results in an iso which provides a splash screen, when I
select the 'Live' option, get a kernel panic:
