I am getting currently an error (s below) when trying to create a new
live image (with added hook)

i'm afraid i can't do something about it, but i'hope Chris is reading
this who maintains live-studio.
as a workaround, you can build one yourself locally with live-build or
you could use live-build.debian.net.

it looks for me like a bug (s. details below). I didn't check the lb code yet.
The uid:gid setting of included subdirs and it's content (999:999) will change
to 1000:1000 on the live image.

Sounds about fine, if foo.$arch.list is given then add to APT_OPTIONS a line
