suggestion here would be to give your projects something like a codename
(e.g. thunderbird codename freehawk) and explicitly grant the right to use those
codenames for derived works of thunderbird in your trademark policy. The same
would be true for mozilla, firefox and
tched to firefox, because they _could not_ claim firebird their own.
However, freefox vs. firefox might be a problem; but then let's consider
something similar like wildfox or openfox.

rethink our position and maybe drop the trademark symbols.
