I usually check the FSF hardware database:
http://www.fsf.org/resources/hw
and then other resources, if I can't find what I need.
I recently bought a USB wireless adapter and I am pretty happy with it.
It is GNU/linux compatible (Realtek 8187). It uses the same
chipset as the Netgear WG111
want to consider that changing a word with a
consolidated meaning within a community may cause more trouble than
help.
In any case, debian is so well documented that really takes no time to
find out the meaning of anything, despite conventions that one may not
like.
I added [OT] to the subject beca
a an easy to use configuration tool. It is possible to simplify users'
life without hiding useful information. If the automatic tool does not
recognize a card or if I want to do something different, why not?

X config file, now if I want to know what
is going on I have to interpret a much more confusing log file.
BTW, what can we do to configure xorg.conf? dpkg-reconfigure does not
seem to help. Is manually editing xorg.conf the only option left?
Thanks for your help,

I am using a USB 2.0 PCMCIA card with my laptop (woody). The
module I need to load is EHCI-HCD (modprobe ehci-hcd).
To remove the card, remove the module first (rmmod ehci-hcd) or
else the computer could hang (mine does).

Can we modify the subject line in cases like this?
