Previously, when i boot i get a quick flash of text that prints to the far left of the screen, after that i get another 'qu

Does anyone know what this error is about? This is happening on a laptop running debian woody 3.0, 2.4.18-bf2.4. I havent been using this laptop but i just jsut started again. Before i stopped using it, it had a really bad crash, i had to boot to single user mode only, any other runlevel it wou
