Hello,
I am about to get a MacBook Pro and I was wondering if anybody had any
good or bad comments to give about it with Debian or Ubuntu?
I have read several posts, including the following interesting one:

which basically seems to say that ever

I am not really into kernel compiling stuff, and really prefer the
apt-get install way, but hey, life is not *always* so easy.
Thanks in advance for any help,

redundant with this mail. Please pardon me if I am :-)
I have installed ACPI packages on my laptop doing, more or less, the following:
- check I was using a 2.6.5 or higher kernel (2.6.8 here)
- check sysfs and udev w

Hi,
I have an integrated multi-format card reader in my laptop and I have
absolutely no idea how to use it. Maybe it already works, but I really
don't know where I should look for any reaction.
Is there something that should appear in my first terminal (Ctrl+Alt
+F1)? Should something pop in /dev

Hi Javier,
First, please try not to write in capital letters, it is considered as
yelling in e-mails.
Second, even if your question is not at all relative to Debian,
information like you are looking for is generally found on the
manufacturer's website, in this case Dell.

Hi there,
I've been looking for an installation report for Debian Sarge on a
Toshiba P30 but all I could find so far are very imprecise and short
reports like "this does/doesn't work".
Just in case, does anybody know of a complete one?
(The main problems I have so far are related to the touchpad
