I've got a Scenic M700 with ESS 1888 soundchip,
running woody and a self-rolled 2.2.19 with apmd.
The sounddevice is reckognized properly and
the modules sb,sound,soundcore and uart401
are inserted after 'modprobe sb'.
So far so good, but pcm is playing back
with the wrong speed. Waves or mp3s so
x27;t test 2.2.19.
Thanks a lot ! A simple 'modprobe sb esstype=1788' did it.

I've got a Linux laptop (Debian unstable) I need to syncronize with a Windows
XP box. I'm looking for something like rdist to intelligently sync the two.
Other than cygwin's rdist, can anyone recommend something?
MO
apt-cache search rdist:
44bsd-rdist - 4.4BSD rdist.

What do you you want to do with "open" midifiles? Play them? Install pmidi or
kmidi. Edit them

I have installed debian sarge on my Fujitsu-Siemens AMILO 1420 notebook. The fan makes a lot of noise and I have no idea how to slow down speed or how to stop the fan. I am not even sure if it is possible at all.
I loaded the ACPI modules, but there are no entries under /p

Hi,
I'm running Sarge on my Toshiba m30x-131 notebook.
I can't get the x server running with a resolution

If anyone was successful with 1280x800, please post

Thanks.

Hi Thomas:
I read on your message that you're using dual displays on a Toshiba M30.
I'm trying to do the same, and it works fine, except that the LCD screen
is always very dark (like 50% brightness or so). Are you having the same
problem?
Thanks in advance:
