Xircom CEM33 blank screen

Although I definitely connect with my server the Internet Explorer window remains blank. Sometimes it says downloading a file (very fast) do I want to open it or save to disc, but nothing appears whatever. Xircom CEM33 Compac Laptop Windows 95 Internet Explorer 4. Any ideas please thanks Terry
