I have compiled the kernel module and the extra keys now generate X events (as
shown by xev). So the driver itself works fine.
How to compile the acerhk module and create deb package
I assume you have a configured Linux kernel source in the

I have a different "winmodem", but had similar problems until I found out the
connection works great when I plug my laptop out of the power socket! Some
kind of electical interference I guess.
So if you have a laptop, give that a try.

It must be bad implementation of wm or something else.

The winmodem and 3D support is working too. :)
I am now running kernel 2.6.8
I also recently started to use iptables firewall with the firestarter
frontend.
I have a digital camera with USB support and it connects as an USB mass
storage device with no problem.
Any questions - gimme a shout.

I have now been running 2.6.13.1 for some time and it looks really promising.
The BogoMIPS value is now very "stable", i.e. not changing greatly from boot
to boot.
I will report back if this hope happens to fail, but let it not be the case.
Thank you all for advice.

Hi folks,
my laptop has a dual-head i830M graphics and I would like to use is for
attaching an external monitor or projector.
Now, the X server seems to recognize the second head (see the relevant log
snippets below), but the attached monitor doesn't display anything. Any idea
what else needs to
Look into /etc/cpufreq.conf
You will probably have to make some configuration changes.
