I had luck "suspending" and "resuming" the card - After that it worked
fine - I switched from pcmcia 3.0.14 in Debian Slink i think to pcmcia-cs

Why is it called "common sense" when nobody seems to have any?
ame S3 Chip (Savage-MX) this is a problem in the
XFree Driver present at least up to 4.0.3 (Running 4.1 for a couple of
days and havent had it again)
StarOffice does trigger it reliably in the installer. You can at least
fix the StarOffice stuff by setting the Environment var
export SAL_DO_NO
as it did for
slink because its a potential security risk when trying to only
let users boot specific operating systems on specific partitions
as you can override this within the MBR.

d question: Where do I get the neomagic xserver deb?
Its in the SVGA server - I have build the XFree86 3.3.5 myself
(non-debian) and just copied the XF86_SVGA in place but
there are 3.3.5 debs available somewhere (not in unstable)

have a look in the syslog if the eth0 is found, or try to configure

There are a couple of problems with different Tulip chipsets
