Each comma is (I believe) a 3-second pause. You will want to manually go
through this process to see exactly how long you need to wait to dial each
number.

First of all, you should really post in plain text, rather than HTML. Reading
it is just a couple of keystrokes for me, but others may have more difficulty.
Is there any particular reason you only have one primary partition? Assuming

I hate to say it, but I have seen this when I didn't have APM support enabled
in the kernel. I would suggest making sure the apm module is loaded (do an
'lsmod'). In the '/etc/modules' file, the entry should read 'apm', rather than
'apm.o'.

It is my understanding that hibernation functionality is specific to Windoze
2000 (i.e., it is provided at the OS level).
It would be useful to have this functionality in Linux as well, not only for
laptops, but also for desktop machines that weren't desgined for this sort of

No, I was not referring to laptops that do this at the BIOS level (I am aware
that there are machines that do this). Also, I was under the impression that
these machines hibernate in response to the 'suspend' command. Am I mistaken?
My point was that W2K does this no matter what it is running o
On a similar note, can anyone who has experience with Linux on a PPC comment

(such as StarOffice). I have been toying with the idea of buying a PowerBook
G4.

The Linksys does not have a buil

I use a USR XJ1560 with my Toshiba 2515CDS. I use the pcmcia-cs for drivers
and PC card services. I never had a problem in the days before I got DSL.
My mother uses a similar modem in a Toshiba 435CDS, with the same drivers.
There is some nastiness when she suspends while dialed up (the ppp da
