i am about to double the size of my laptop ram from 1 to 2GB;
actually the swap space is 1906 MB (almost twice as the ram) but i
wonder if it is mandatory or simply better to double it again when i
double the size of the ram as well;

As you surely know, that's a metaphysical question, like does God exist

In the default Linux kernel configuration
I have looked for a solution in forum search, google, and other misc. Debian
help pages. I've found many comments, but no solution.
The Problem: After suspending successfully (apparently, evidenced by blinking
amber light) and resuming, the screen remains off. No backlight... blank
screen.
