I did open the sources.list in notepad and the result is :
#
# deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 5.0.0 _Lenny_ - Official i386 DVD Binary-1
20090214-16:54]/ lenny contrib main
deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 5.0.0 _Lenny_ - Official i386 DVD Binary-1
20090214-16:54]/ lenny contrib main
deb http://securit
Please remove the line
deb-src ftp://ftp.hk.debian.org/debian/ lenny/updates main contrib
or correct it to
deb-src ftp://ftp.hk.debian.org/debian/ lenny main contrib
If you want all things to be ok edit your sources.list as follows
deb http://backports.org/debian lenny-backports main contrib non-f
Please show the current /etc/apt/sources.list contents

I am unable to create a logical partition using gparted.

How to send an installation report ?
i did run report-bug --configure.
Do you have a "mail transport agent" (MTA) like Exim, Postfix or SSMTP
configured on this computer to send mail to the Internet? [Y|n|q|?]?

You bet. The partitioner will allow you to select a disk or partition

Due to some basic restrictions with disk partitioning, you can't have
more than 4 physical partitions or 3 physical partitions + 1 logical
partition on the disk. Double check if you already have 4 physical
You need to create an extended partition to be able to add logical in it
