I'm trying to upgrade the kernel from the default 2.6.8 to the latest
(from kernel.org), and I followed the drill using make-kpkg. However,

If I rembember if you upgrade to 2.6 kernel images, apt will be
upgrade module-i

I get source tarball and uncompressed it. Yes it is 2.56.16
