I am using Presario V2000, and encounter the same problem.
My solution is when booting, use right CTRL+C to terminate the loading
of i810_audio, you should press the key right before the loading!
Then the system will go on to boot but without module for net card.
After booting, use "modprobe 8139t

Hi again.
After setup X server using
MonitorLayount "LVDS, AUTO"
I can see the kdm greeting but it is almost black.
My question is, how can I up the brightness of LCD display?
Thanks in advanced,
Tourinho
My laptop (Toshiba Satellite 2430-S255) display can do 1024x768.
However, I have it connected to a monitor most of the time which can
handle higher resolutions. I would like to configure it so that I can
increase the resolution when connected to the monitor and then
decrease it when I'm disconnecte

Just in case, would there be anyone here who tested an ipw2200

an EAP-encrypted wireless access point?
I'm having problems connecting and get several errors message which are
not quite significant to me,

You definitely need to.
If you are using 2.6 kernel, OSS is depreciated, ALSA is the standard and is
much better.
i810_audio is part of OSS.

Hi folks...
I just purchased a 570E thinkpad (PIII 500MHz) last week. As well as a
Cisco 340 Aironet wireless card. I'm hoping to install linux on it and
am trying to do as much homework as I can before they get here. I've
searched a lot on the topic of installing debian on the 570E and have

Note that sid is likely become a lot more unstable (literally) when sarge
is released as some major changes are implemented. The past ye

How? I wasn't able to get my ipw2200 to do "monitor" mode which
kismet and wpa_supplicant seemed to require.
Is there a new ipw2200 driver, or did you get wpa_supplicant to work
around it?

Hi all,
I'm running debian/testing on a Travelmate 525txv.
When downloading large files, the prismGT (prism54) cardbus card
"freezes" (and sometime hangs the system).
What works:
- system boots fine with the card plugged;
- when I plug [unplug] the card, hotplug brings up [remove] the interface

I'm using ipw2200-1.0.3 and
I've submitted a bug to the debian system (Bug#308495) regarding this
situation. The basic problem is as the subject line says: the display
is left on after the machine to put to sleep. It displays what looks
to be the console messages in single user mode display. pmud worked
just fine with woody
