hello,
I want to buy a wifi card but I am having a hard time in identifying one which
works with linux, because on the shelf I see cards with slightly different
designations.
For example, netgear wg511 *should* be supported by the prism54 driver, but is
it also true for wg511IS ??
Thanks for yo
That is all well and good but where is this cramfs patch? It
definitely does not exist in the kernel-patch package and if you look
for the lines that need to be changed they already are in vanilla
kernels greater than 2.6.1. Is this is not moot then for newer
kernels.

Hi all, I have tried compiling a 2.6.8 (debian source) and 2.6.10
(vanilla) kernel and in both cases i am getting an error in
"drivers/built-in.o" (see below). What can i do to compile a working
kernel, what would I be able to disable in the config? (because i dont
think i need isd200...etc for

Hi.
I've been using a D-Link DWL-G650 pcmcia card with the madwifi-driver
for quite a while now, but I've changed card to a D-Link DWL-650+ using
the acx100-driver. It's working fine and all but it doesn't start
automatically at boot time.
Instead I have to run a script after the laptop is booted.
Thanks a lot with that info, removed what you said and the kernel
compiled perfectly! Great! :-)

Hi Christian,
Instead I have to run a script after the laptop is booted. Now my
question is if I could make this process automated in any way. And if
anyone has done it?
With the G650 I had some lines in /etc/network/interfaces and that
worked excellent with that card. The lines were:

You would probably have more luck if you posted in english (or to the
french debian list) and if you gave the name of the card.

Hi all,
I've been given a Dell Latitude C640 laptop as my work PC (it was
formerly used by my boss, who ran Windows). When in the office, I
plug it into its docking station under my desk and use external LCD
monitor, keyboard and mouse. I run Sarge, kernel 2.6.8-1-686.
