apt-get dist-upgrade ?
if you only used 'apt-get upgrade' instead of 'apt-get dist-upgrade' then
a large collection of packages (like te kde ones) will not be upgraded
because many other packages have to be removed (due to the f

Hi all,
I have a problem with my NTFS partition. Currently I have in my
/etc/fstab the following:
#
/dev/hda1 /ntfs ntfs
rw,exec,nodev,nosuid,users,gid=glushkov,umask=002 0 0

I have a similar problem: Debian Sarge, after an upgrade I can't switch to
ttys from X, when its running gnome (metacity). But I can switch to the

I believe this has something to do with Microsoft having effectively
copyrighted / patented NTFS after their "failure" to do so with FAT.
We can read it, but not write it. Longhorn will close this remaining
loophole.

i don't think that xmodmap can solve my problem - when i run xev and press
the ALT, STRG or F(1-6) keys, the keyboard signals show up correctly -
this is what i would expect, as the keyboard works under X11.
it does however not work after switching to a text console.
thanks nevertheless,

hallo,
I had to run a "dpkg-reconfigure console-data" and then to chose the
correct keyboard layout. But in my case this was for swissgerman so I
don't know if this also works for you.
