Just to see if everything worked, I threw in the knoppix cd, and lo and
behold, all was good, so I did a hard drive based install from knoppix.

have a section on APM for laptops. Maybe this could be of some help to you...
I will be doing the install in a week or two .

Hi List,
since today I cannot mount my cryptoloop device. I get the error
message:
ioctl: LOOP_SET_STATUS: Invalid argument
Has somebody already had that problem or has the same? My loopback
device did work before the update.

What do you mean? Does the card load okay? Is the interface created?
Can you not configure the IP for the interface?

Well yes, the truth is that I was just using the XF86Config-4 file
that Thomas Marquart's posted:)... Anyway, I tested removing that line,
and here I am with the same problem, but no error messages that can hint
me a solution!!:(

on the Dell Inspiron 1100 box.
I have a Intel chip, using the i810 driver, a SVideo outport on my TV
and Dell.. I have a SVideo cable between (aka composite).
I though have tried some, havent gotten anywhere. im no
