I tried using the bcm4400 , exact problem as before, static ip works
fine but nothing from dhcp. Perhaps I am missing something ? do you
do anyt special setup other than changing the static to dhcp in
/etc/networking/interface and apt-get install dhcpclient ? What about
kernel options ? need

I have an IBM ThinkPad A20P that has a bad diskette. I get an error
"02B0: Diskette drive A error" when I boot, and have to hit an ESC
to get past it. I don't really need a diskette drive all that much, but
I'd like to fix the drive or disable it so I don't have the error halt.

After reinstalling my ASUS A1300 laptop I am having big problems with video
playback.
Both mplayer (compiled locally) and xine shows very choppy video and cpu usage
is through the roof.
I am using kernel 2.6-test4 with winischhofers fbdev and the X driver. The
result is the same with kernel 2.4.

I have switched from 24 bpp to 16 bp
Yes, already have both of these compiled in the kernel.
