First: I am a novice, and I don't know about linux a lot so, please, try to
understand my stupidity.
I heard last times that a lot of people wrote about Xe3.
I have this laptop too (although now is at assistance) and I want to know
if somebody know how to configure the chipset i830m in the XF86con

Hi!
I've just been working on the same problem ;)
And one of the things I figured out was that it was very important that the
pcmcia-cs package is to be found under /usr/src/modules/pcmcia-cs/ when you
compiles the kernel and the modules.

I've asked in the past and never got an answer that worked. I'm at a
point again where I want to get my Gateway port replicator to work with
my laptop. I can use everything on it but the PCMCIA slots. How do I
tell linux to use the two slots that are in the replicator as well as
those in my laptop?
Excuse me if you thinks this is a basic question, but just in case: you have
enabled sound in your bios?
Seems like I didn have to do that in RedHat, but in
Debian I had to ;)
