I'm searching for a way to get my ESS ES1989 Modem to work with Linux
2.4. I've heard there were binary drivers by ESS Tech. for 2.2, but (as

I've got the same problem with my Asus laptop. It is a winmodem, integrated
on the sound chip. There are no linux drivers for this winmodem AFAIK. Too
bad as I would like to have a driver for it as much as you would.
