I have a Toshiba 2800-100 with the debian potato.
I compile the kernel 2.4.2 and when i reboot the system, i receive the message
"Kernel decompression OK" and it freeze
Do you have a solution ???

I tried to install Potato on my new laptop but
I'm having troubles.
The system hangs during the first reboot (after
the install of the base system) just after this message:
"Starting the network SuperServer : inetd" (or
something like that I don 't remember exactly).

first of all: Don't worry, Debian CAN be installed on the I8000 so
that absolurly everything runs perfectly!

I have 2.2r2 on my notebook, but have been unsuccessful in configuring
the Maestro 3 sound hardware. I have 2.4.2 running. I also D/L the ALSA
drivers and configured, but still without much luck. I swore I would
not give into this, but work is keeping me away from solving the
problem,

Could you be more specific about how to use these files. Not full
detail (I can RTFM) but just the next level or two of detail. Also,
a sentence on maintenance issues would be nice, so when the kernel is
upgraded I don't apt-get a
