On my TP A20p I have a CPU load of ~50% (system) of kapmd, even when running
on battery power. What is the process doing there? The load is only 0.1.

depending on the type of PCMCIA hardware your laptop has.

Hello,
last week I wrote about my broken IBM disk in here.
the 6gb travelstar I wanted to buy wasn't available anymore.
So I looked for another disk and found the travelstar 20GN (10 gb) space.
I saw the interface was ATA-5 although the same IBM page said the
interface was ATA-4.

I tried installing potato (2.2_rev0 - binary-i386-1.iso) from CD on my Sharp
9340T laptop. When I rebooted into Linux after the install, things seem to go
well until 'Loading PCMCIA Services: modules' when the system hangs. I don't
have any PCMCIA cards in. Lil' help?
