This is a known problem on this series of VAIOs, such as FX301, 401,
etc.
In fact, all the battery consuming elements are controlled through the
ACPI interface, thus,
I have got a problem on my Vaio FX501, maybe you can help me.
APM stuff is not working fine: the battery has a very short life-time when
I use my laptop unplugged.
apm is here and working (I can get informations about the battery) but it
seems like my cpu fan as my harddrive are always working :
