kernel2.4.2 and apm

hum, I am trying to run kernel2.4.2 on a Lifebook-C6185 and it works, but I really do not have any idea, why i can not suspend anymore. With kernel2.2.17 I did not have any problems like that. I tried out several config-settings but there remaain the following problems: apm -S works but apm -s hang
