i want to buy a compaq evo n160 (Pentium 1.0/1.2 Ghz, 20HDD, 128/256Mb,

I would like to ask if someone know some problems about using debian with

i have a my notebook at a port replicator, the original from compaq.
i want to use a usb-mouse over ps2-adapter at the port replicator. my
problem is that if i put a mouse on the ps2-connctor it doesn't work.
the touchpad work also as a ps2 mouse.
