This last was known a long time ago, as noted in the BUGS file in David
Hinds's pcmcia-cs package. It was finally fixed in 2.2.11, after several
rounds of pestering.

When I try to open the serial port it returns input/output error. If I
setserial the IRQ to 0 it will work, but very slowly, as serial ports are
not meant to be polled.
