Hi,
as mentioned I experienced some problems before. At one point I got
pissed and reinstalled etch from scratch using debootstrap. But XFCE4
freezed my mashine again even after a fresh install. I was, and am,
running 18-4-k7 kernel. Maybe something went wrong with the whole
18-4-k7/dbus/hal comb
As far as I'm concerned it has to do with the kernel 2.6.18-4-686
update. I was using kernel 2.6.18-3-686 without any problems and as
soon as I did a dist-upgrade which upgraded me to 4 I experienced all
the same problems as described by other users.
This is also the second time this has happened

Than in this upgrade it came up again (went into
testing...if that is p

Hi all,
I'm running Debian Etch on a Toshiba Satellite A100, I had no issues
for several months until yesterday.
After I did an
apt-get update; apt-get dist-upgrade
something apparently went wrong and the system started to freeze
completely after a few minutes, each time I had to restart it b
