Does anyone ou there have a modeline that will work for 800x600 on a
Dell Inspiron 8000 with an ATI Rage 128 video card?
I want to get the TV out going for which you need 800x600.
I have looked all over the net and can't find the right info.
Very annoying when it works in Windows but not

Hello!
I'm new in this list, I want to say "HELLO!!" to you all.
I have a question. I'm using a compaq with 800x600 of resolution. I installed
debian potato and I wanted to get that resolution in text mode, but I still
can't. Some of the thinks I did are:

Hi Folks,
I have an IBM Thinkpad 560. I got it to work at 800x600 16bpp
using an external monitor, but it is MUCH slower than usual. The
X Server reports that it does not have enough video RAM to use
acceleration. The acceleration works just fine at 8bpp.

Hi Folks,
I have an IBM Thinkpad 560. I got it to work at 800x600 16bpp
using an external monitor, but it is MUCH slower than usual. The
X Server reports that it does not have enough video RAM to use
acceleration. The acceleration works just fine at 8bpp.
I have 1 MEG video RAM, and a Trident
nasty big black
border. Trying with 800x600 either doesn't start or produces something
far away from synced (depending on which settings I use).
This is what SuperProbe reports (and cyber9382 is listed as supported):
First video: Super-VGA
Chipset: Trident Cyber9382 (PCI Probed)
Memory: 1
