the last outputs are:

and thats the point where it still hangs!

Hi all,
I did something very stupid (it was an accident...)
I changed all the file permissions on /etc with chmod -R 777 *
Is there any way to restore the default, correct permissions ?

n't know if the USB zip-drive
uses the scsi emulation that's required for booting (parallel zip-drives
don't).
Last option; send it to me :-) (I want a vaio)

Install other bootloader like http://www.xosl.org
6) (Option) Remove old bootmethods and setup lilo to use the
other=/dev/hdax method to boot into win2k with lilo as MBR.
Actually, haven't tried that either with win2k, but :-)

I am not running woody, but I'll run X4 on potato and I'll do not notice any
slowdon i X4. I'll think it's alot faster.

/mnt/install or how do I do. And after that how do I to write a MBR to that
disk and make shure that it vill boot when I put it in the Omnibook. The
Omnibook boots on the PCMCIA disk. My gool is to install base and modules so
I can do the rest of the installation from there.
