hi
i just got the T440s. i haven't tried everything so i'm still tinkering.
i installed jessie almost immediately. no install issues except some
initial uefi bios problems i fixed by turning off the 'secure and signed'
software check in the bios.
i have tried most things except suspend and can s
x27;s your case check in /etc/fstab (or posted the file in here)

inserting or booting with usb drives attached.
i have gnome-settings-daemon 3.2.2-2 installed. mounting 'manually' from

Hi
funny you mention that. i took a look at my custom startup script for my
thinkpad and found to the bottom the following i must have added some
time ago and forgot.
# esd links
if [ ! -e /usr/lib/libesd.so.1 ]; then
ln -s /usr/lib/libesd.so.0 /usr/lib/libesd.so.1

its a shame... the sticker looked pretty good.
i actually ordered some debian stickers from cafepress.com
they arrived quite quickly on a large sheet and i had to cut each one
out - they're not the plastic domed stickers but the flat ones.
replaced the winxp sticker with the debian one on my thi
ere in the end.
has anyone had any issues with installing kernel images and having any
init scripts run for initrd?
anyway... thanks again.

Hi
i'm trying to get suspend2 working on my thinkpad r52. i'm using debian
etch with a vanilla kernel from kernel.org and custom config for this
particular laptop.
following the instructions from suspend2.net i recompiled my kernel with
suspend2 and installed hibernate etc. i modified hibernate.c
i know this was just posted up but...
it really sounds like the dvd isn't running in DMA mode. i had this
problem on my thinkpad at first, dvd would be choppy as you suggest,
music i played would also be. fixed it by enabling DMA on the drives -
in my case it was actually using the wrong kernel mo

nd the dvd is encrypted. i'm stumped!!!
the /etc/mtab entry looks like:
/dev/scd0 /media/AU_109961 udf
ro,noexec,nosuid,nodev,uid=1000,gid=1000,umask=007 0 0

Hi
i have an R52 1858A19.
i have posted my .config at:
http://www.executequery.org/temp/dot-config-2.6.16.1
its for vanilla kernel 2.6.16-1, though i used it for debian kernel
2.6.15 - the 2.6.16 compile was a final vain attempt in fixing my
current issue with the DVD drive.
the drive reads a
check that you have libdvdcss installed. its a decoder for dvds required
for viewing.

this is i think related to another post i just replied to.
in any case check out:
http://debcentral.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=103&forum=4
there is a bug in the generation of the initrd kernel image on install.
hope this helps.

whats the kernel version?
the debian stock kernel 2.6.15 does dump some apparently harmless udev
errors on boot. i read this was a bug in the initrd image build on
kernel installation. not really sure. i also found that rebuilding the
initrd file for that kernel using (for example) yaird fixes thi
Hi
i have an R51 and use the same package. all i did was put the module
nvram in /etc/modules and it just works.

check out the following:
http://debblue.debian.net/faq.php
though the instructions are for the debblue theme - it opens the door
and points to many others.
very simple to follow and very nice outcome.
