The hard disk currently has a small win98 partition which works fine, and I
can download stuff quite happily, and run loadlin to install.

I'm using pump to manage my dynamic ip address assigned by my ISP for my cable
modem. I'm using IPChains as part of my firwall.
At the moment my IPchains config file is run only at boot up, but if when pump
renews the lease on my IP address it changes, my IPchains script needs to be
rerun

Just wondering if anybody has had any sucess using the latest debianised 2.4
kernel source (test5 i think) on a Thinkpad 600E ?
2.2.17 works fine, but when i use my 2.4.0 kernel i get hda errors, dma errors
and interrupt errors. I have kept the approriate kernel config options the

Anybody had any success playing Audio CDs on there TPad 600E ?
On the Tpad the cdrom appears on ide1 as /dev/hdc. I can mount iso data
cd's fine, but if i insert an audio CD and use any of several tools i've
tried (such as cdtools) to try and play the cd i get all sorts of errors on
hdc, such as
