ppp can't get a route?

I am trying to alternate between ethernet and ppp with ifplugd. The issue is that no matter what ppp seems to never get routed. It adds its lines to resolv.conf, it adds its routes, but no joy. Could someone help me? If you need any additional info, please shout.
